What To Be Aware of When Buying A Juicer

Filed under: General — healthy @ 6:07 am

With a lot of juicers around in the stores, deciding on one can be quite daunting. I first became interested in juicing when I purchased a Jack Lalanne Power Juicer. A lot of people spend quite a bit of their time trying to find a right juicer , but sometimes miss the shot by a long distance. It is very important to  realize the reason for buying a juicer and then go  looking for one. To make the correct decision it is important to know the salient differences between the different juicers such as those for fruit and wheatgrass. Making a list of the features you desire is a useful exercise prior to going out and making a purchase

There are various varieties of machines around in the shops. It can often be confusing trying to decide between a centrifugal juicer, a masticating juicer, and a twin gear juicer. By far the most common and most  affordable are the centrifugal juicers. They process fruits and vegetables at very high speeds and are very effective. They are, however, unsuitable for foods like spinach, wheatgrass and lettuce. In order to prevent any of the juice going to waste it is often advisable to buy a single or twin blade device. For these particular types of food  there are dedicated juicers available. One of the most suitable types is the Miracle-mj 500  Juicer. They contain no aluminium parts, are easy to assemble, disassemble and operate and are usually cheaper. In Masticating juicers, the lower speed units help produce high quality juice as a result of less oxidation.

I would recommend checking the guarantee of any machine prior to purchasing. A good machines will have a guarantee range of 5- 10 years. Since the cutting blade wears out  after 2 to 4 months of usage, proper checks should be performed before any buying. Have a look at the percentage yield of the appliance. This will give you an idea of the  output and efficiency.. There should be  less waste and more of the  juice in the final product. Fruit juice can easily be damaged by the oxidation produced by the heat from a high power motor. I would recommend buying a machine with a power output of about 420 watts.

A branded machine such as the Lalanne Power Juicer is often a better buy than a non-branded appliance. The reason being replacement parts are  more easily avaialble and often  cheaper.

Other than making fruit and vegetable juicers, many more modern appliances can be used for other functions. They can be used to produce nut butters, pasta and ice cream as well as many other foods. These  modern appliances are really quite versatile.
