Apricot kernels: The real deal.

To be honest, I had actually never even heard of organic apricot kernels until earlier this year. I had no idea what they were. Actually they are only the stones or seeds of an apricot.
We’ve all eaten apricots before, but in most cases all we see of apricot kernels is after we have eaten the apricot when we throw it out!
However, apricot kernal are one of the healthiest foods for you.
The one biggest reason apricot kernels are so healthy is that they are very high in vitamin B 17. Many foods have the b17 vitamin in them, but not so much in the current western diet. On top of this apricot kernels are particularly high in the vitamin, and it is this reason that they are so good for your health.
Vit b17 has been linked to helping to prevent cancer. So far, there have been no concrete studies to prove this, and there has been a lot of legal battles trying to stop people from selling apricot kernals as a “cancer cure”, but even so, there are countless people who swear by eating apricot kernels.
As always, you should always have a balanced diet, you should not just bank on just a few foods to keep you fit. This is never more important than when you are eating apricot kernels.
There are two types of apricot kernels you can get. With the standard ones, you can have as much as 150g each day, but you can also get a stronger “bitter” apricot kernel. With the bitter apricot kernels you are recommended to only eat 2-3 of the kernels a day.
Why this is particularly important is because despite the fact that apricot kernels are so beneficial to your health, there is also cyanide present. This not going to harm you at all unless you eat way too many, however this is why you have to be careful.
A totally different substance that has been connected to maybe aiding recovery from cancer is Goji Berries. These contain very high levels of antioxidants which makes them perfect to include along with apricot kernels.
