How much calcium is enough?
Most people do not get enough calcium in their diet, so mineral supplements are recommended, especially for women over 50.
Choose a calcium supplement from a reputable vitamin manufacturer who offers a variety of forms – calcium carbonate, calcium citrate and calcium with magnesium and vitamin D (www.webbernaturals.com for example).
Some minerals are called “Krebs Cycle minerals”, such as Webber Naturals Calcium/Magnesium with zinc, and these are especially good at binding to cells within the body so they can be quickly and efficiently absorbed. Citrate minerals are known to be more “bio-available” and more easily digested. To make strong bones more appealing you can even find “double chocolate calcium & magnesium soft chews” – a toffee-like supplement that doesn’t taste like minerals!
Want to save your bones so you can dance at your 90th birthday? Keep moving and keep taking your calcium!
