PCOS and infertility: PCOS short for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, is a frequent cause of infertility for the female. It is projected that this medical disorder has an effect on around ten percent of all women who are in the reproductive age. However, not a lot of women out there have any idea what this condition is, let alone who the women are that have it. One such treatment that the doctor might recommend is the use of in vitro fertilization. There is no way of suspecting such in a woman by just looking at her. Also referred to as Stein-Leventhal Syndrome, PCOS and infertility is a condition that affects up to fifteen percent of the women within reproductive age in society today. Among all the women who are diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, forty to eighty percent of them will have a problem with fertility. The reason for this wide statistic is that polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex metabolic syndrome, with multiple factors that can interfere with fertility.

Infertility has become a widespread problem for women. Generally symptoms are not noticeable unless a person is made aware of it. Infertility varies and has several types with different signs and symptoms among women, and it can also affect her partner.

If a woman fails to get pregnant several times it is advised to make an appointment with a doctor right away. A more acceptable case would be having unprotected intercourse for up to two years averaging to two or three times a week. I can only speak for myself here, but I do whatever I can to avoid seeing the doctor. It’s not because I don’t believe he (or she) is good at what he does, it’s simply that I’m not eager about pumping chemicals into my system that don’t need to be there, like those antibiotics I seem to get every time I do wind up going. Don’t they understand that they are producing superbugs? Even with a disorder like infertility, natural treatment is my first choice. Natural treatments frequently work just as well, they normally cost less and there are not as many side effects.
