In fact snoring could be described as a truly global problem.

Wherever there is an ‘itch’ someone will offer relief! Because of the enormous challenge that snoring presents, there is also an enormous market in gadgets, gizmos, pills, potions and pillows all claiming to offer a solution. Snoring is big business.

The final resort of course is surgery and with the surgical procedures for snoring being painful, invasive and not always successful, it is worth exploring other options.

Fresh Air KOs Insomnia

Fresh air seems to help many people fall asleep.

Usually during the warmer months we tend to open the windows of our home. Having a gentle flow of fresh air into the room feels relaxing while we sleep and if the weather is pleasant it almost goes without thinking that we keep the windows open, even if just a bit.

Living in a climate where you are subjected to the four seasons in all of their glory, you might find that you suffer from insomnia at certain times of the year. Quite often people find it more difficult to fall asleep during the late fall and winter months. For some, they attribute that to the shortened daylight hours or perhaps a small case of depression as the temperature plummet and time spent outside is rare. (more…)

Napping seems to be on the minds of many sleep-deprived Canadians, with recent international studies praising the benefits of the mid-afternoon snooze, whether at home or at work.

But is napping for everyone? The Better Sleep Council Canada advises that if you regularly have trouble falling or staying asleep at night, you should not be taking a nap during the day. But for others, napping can help regain alertness, enhance productivity, and reduce the stress of our busy days. To nap, or not to nap? That is the question.
