Is that just an old story that my grandma told me, or are there some health facts behind it?

This idea seems to go back to the 1500′s. Although some modern studies have suggested that there is some truth to the saying, most health care professionals suggest you not put much weight unto this “myth”.

What everyone does agree on is that you need to drink well when ill. Plain water and some juice is best. Avoid alcohol and coffee.

One more thing. If you believe in the stuff a cold part of this saying, like I do, then go for it!
