Acupuncture Works
Friday, May 15th, 2009Acupuncture brought more relief to people with back pain than standard treatments, whether it was done with a toothpick or a real needle, U.S. researchers said on Monday (May 11th, 2009) in a study that raises new questions about how acupuncture works.

Is There Anything Negative about Acupuncture?

This Chinese traditional medicine inserts very fine needles under the skin to relieve pain or treat various medical conditions.

Headaches can disrupt their employment, schooling and social activities. Those people who suffer from chronic headaches, migraines or cluster headaches continue to search for an answer that is more than taking another medication or lying in a dark room waiting for it to go away.
Some of the medication that works have side effects and the pain that one endures waiting in the darkened room for sleep to come is more than some can tolerate. A General Overview of Acupuncture

The aim of acupuncture is to balance qi in the body, which is the energy force, or the vital energy in the body and to release chi (the negative energy) in the body if there is an accumulation of it. I know I cannot quite picture myself being used as a pin cushion. Yet, how many times have you seen reports on the television or read articles in magazines or the newspapers that tell of the benefits of this practice? Most people have seen or heard about acupuncture but how many of them actually know anything about it other than to say that some needles get stuck into you and that makes you feel better. Acupuncture is a part of the teachings of Chinese traditional medicine, also called TCM, and is a popular treatment in the realm of alternative medicine. But it is by no means as simple as someone sticking a bunch of needles into the patient nor is it only about inserting needles. Acupuncture: Thousands of Years in the Making
Tuesday, June 5th, 2007Not many medicines can profess a history dating back nearly five thousand years, but acupuncture can. Acupuncture has been found to be used through out history starting from at least five thousand years ago; this was proved by a mummy found in the Alp mountain range that carried tattoos of acupuncture points at area of the body, which are used for the conditions, the mummy was suffering with. There has also been cave dwellings found with pictures carved into the wall of acupuncture treatments predating the birth of Jesus. (more…)
