Diabetes is a disease which restricts the normal capacities of the human body to use the energy coming from food. Being characterized by a sugar excess in blood, diabetes can result from genetic and environmental factors acting together. With an incredible increase in the number of patients suffering from diabetes, the experts speak today about diabetic epidemics.

In 1998, there were 143 million diabetics in the world. In 2025 it was estimated the number was 300 million. (more…)

What exactly is the mysterious disease that was once described as being the “yuppie flu” and was believed to be only found in the realm of the rich and famous? Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a sickness or illness that is defined by both “profound as well as prolonged exhaustion.” As opposed to occasional feelings of tiredness, those suffering from CFS will not get better simply by getting an adequate amount of sleep and rest. After all, considering the fact that most often it is required of students to hold a baccalaureate degree and then add four years of full time study to it, it would make sense for them to go into what is considered mainstream medicine. Why Does Cellulite Form?

There is no doubt that some people seem more prone to develop cellulite than others.

Cellulite rarely affects men as they store their fat deposits at a deep level than women. Interestingly their fat cells are also a different shape.

The characteristic orange peel skin usually develops in women just post puberty and the condition worsens with age as the skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity. It is thought the contraceptive pill plays a large part in the formation of cellulite as the body’s natural waste elimination processes become overwhelmed with the higher levels of oestrogen in the body. Not many medicines can profess a history dating back nearly five thousand years, but acupuncture can. Acupuncture has been found to be used through out history starting from at least five thousand years ago; this was proved by a mummy found in the Alp mountain range that carried tattoos of acupuncture points at area of the body, which are used for the conditions, the mummy was suffering with. There has also been cave dwellings found with pictures carved into the wall of acupuncture treatments predating the birth of Jesus. (more…)

Those that practice Chiropractic do so because it gives relief to many from pain. It is a form of health care that has a focus towards the body’s structure (mostly the spine area) and the function of the structure. Those who practice the art of chiropractic are called “doctors of chiropractic, chiropractors, or chiropractic physicians”. What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the expression used to describe pockets of fat which are trapped, and cause dimpling in the skin. This dimpling is irregular and patchy and has been compared with orange peel.

90% of post-adolescent women go on to develop cellulite at some time during their life although it is very hardly ever seen in men. The thighs, buttocks and the abdomen are the most common areas for a woman to develop cellulite. Although it is often mistaken for obesity, cellulite is not actually obesity related because it can also take place in thin lean women. (more…)
